Our Robusta natural a born star coming from the Amazonian rainforest. Harvested using traditional methods, highlights caramel and nuts notes and is highly recommended for those who want to be awake and active all day.
The buff-tailed sicklebill inhabits the lower Andes and adjacent west Amazonian lowlands from southern Colombia and northern Ecuador to Peru and Bolivia. In elevation it generally ranges from 180 m to 3.300 m. It is restricted to the undergrowth of humid forested and wooded habitats. It will tolerate more habitat disturbance than its congener, regularly occurring in plantations, bamboo stands and open habitat where populations are healthy, though it still prefers natural vegetation. Their flight is slow with audible wing beats. In addition to nectar of the Heliconia, it will also catch small arthropods. Only the female incubates; the incubation period is 16–18 days. The IUCN has assessed the violet-tailed sylph as being of Least Concern.
